Digital Work Card (Ψηφιακή Κάρτα Εργασίας)

The Digital Work Card is the legal framework behind the check-in/ check-out events you submit via WRKCardSE (see API Overview). Employers must report real-time arrival/departure events for each employee with physical presence, introduced by Νόμος 4808/2021 to ensure declared working hours and overtime are respected.

Does this apply to you?

A given employee only generates Work Card events if both:

  1. they are enrolled in Digital Work Time Organization (Ψηφιακή Οργάνωση Χρόνου Εργασίας: Ναι in their Employment Relationship Change declaration), and
  2. their employer's main activity (ΚΑΔ) is in scope — see Eligible Sectorsand Κάρτα Εργασίας: Ναι is set for that employee.

If both are true, every arrival/departure must be reported — via the API (WRKCardSE), the web form, or XML upload.

Where events end up

Every accepted WRKCardSE submission is processed into a per-employee, per-day Ημερολόγιο Πραγματικής Απασχόλησης (Actual Work Calendar), available to:

  • the employer, via ΕΝΤΥΠΑ ΣΕΠΕ → Κάρτα Εργασίας → Ημερολόγιο Πραγματικής Απασχόλησης, and
  • the employee, via the myErgani app and web portal.

All channels feed the same Actual Work Calendar and are subject to the same 15-minute on-time window — see On-time vs. late.

Per Άρθρο 2 της Υ.Α. 49758/31.05.2022, if a power/telecom outage, employer-system failure, or Ergani connectivity problem prevents on-time submission (the situations covered by f_aitiologia codes 001003, see Late and justified submissions), the employer must:

  1. Immediately notify the competent Επιθεώρηση Εργασίας (Labour Inspectorate) about the problem, by any convenient means.
  2. Immediately notify the same Επιθεώρηση Εργασίας once the situation ends.
  3. Submit the data to Ergani as soon as possible afterward, using the justification code, covering the affected period.

These notification steps are outside the API — they're a compliance obligation that accompanies any submission using f_aitiologia.
